New Albany resident inspires community

Born on July 21, 1997, Daniel Rako’s first year of life was full of ifs.

Rako was diagnosed with spina bifida myelomeningocele, a birth defect leaving his spine protruding through his back in two pieces, when he was born.

In January 2024, Rako passed away at the age of 26 having touched t...

Dublin teens host annual fundraiser for shelter dogs

Adopting dogs from a shelter is a fantastic way to gain adorable friends and give animals a loving home. For a group of Dublin students, adopting their dogs was only the first step in making a difference for shelter animals.

Olivia McCoy and Sydney Smith, both freshman, and Olivia’s sister Annabelle, a sixth grader, created the fundraiser, Dog-A-Thon, in 2020, after adopting their dogs. Since both dogs were adopted from local shelters, they organized an annual fundraiser to give back to the p...

The Game Returns to Columbus

More than 1,800 days ago, Ohio State beat Michigan in Ann Arbor 56-27. Since then, the Buckeyes have yet to taste victory against their bitter rivals. This Saturday, Ohio State will host the Michigan Wolverines and attempt to stop “That Team Up North” from securing a fourth straight victory against them, a feat not accomplished since the early 1990s.

While the Wolverines are unranked ahead of their matchup against Ohio State for the first time since 2017, it is hard to simply guarantee the ho...

It is no secret that reading to children helps improve their literacy and reading comprehension, but there are plenty of other benefits for both the reader and listener through shared connections.

Stiles, a pediatricia...

Former U.S. President Donald Trump hasn’t been convicted, but that didn’t divert any eyes from the first-ever U.S. president to be indicted for a crime.

The story of the Ohio State Boxing Club can only be compared to the redemption arc of “Rocky III.”

During a normal year, Stadler said the club has a fairly consistent attendance with around 60-70 people.

“After [the pandemic], we were down in the dumps for a while. We really, kind of, revitalized i...
