Wil Steigerwald

Hello, my name is Wil Steigerwald, and I am a recent graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in journalism and media production. I specialize in sports and hard news storytelling through written articles, video packages and podcasts. Currently, I freelance through BIGPLAY Sports Media, where I produce articles published by Sports Illustrated covering Ohio State and Cleveland sports. On the side, I utilize my multimedia skills by filming and producing high school football highlights, photographing community events, and conducting both contracted and personal drone videography.

During my time as a student, I worked as a sports video producer for The Lantern, Ohio State’s student news publication. There, I attended a variety of Buckeye sports competitions to shoot and produce game recap videos, helped manage sports social media accounts and interviewed athletes and coaches. I also interned with CityScene Magazine, a Columbus-based publication, as their assistant editor and wrote for a startup digital sports news site called The Noise, as the lead Cleveland Browns writer.
